Moviehouse Summer Schedule @ Sternberg Park

Moviehouse: CinemaParque returns to Sternberg Park this July. The handball courts come alive every other Monday as an unique outdoor alternative movie spot on warm summer nights. Visit with friends and neighbors, view entertaining films about the area and engage in conversation with talented artists. And it's free!

New Children New York
New Children/New York is an intimate portrait of the struggles and perseverance of young immigrants coming of age in a rarely seen New York City. Set in a community workshop in Bushwick, a Latino immigrant and low-income neighborhood of Brooklyn, the documentary follows three young people among a group of students who are studying filmmaking.

Spontaneity sneaks in with three films that take public performance from the street to the screen. There’s the terror of Heartocalypse by Matt Silver, the romance of John Bonafede’s (International) Kiss A Stranger With A Scale Day, and the sheer joy of Free Hugs from Zach Timm and Matt Rivera.

Sternberg Dances
Local park-goers of all ages, encouraged by choreographer Ann Robideaux, participate in a community dance collaboration resulting in a montage of movement and other talents for the camera. Open to everyone, this site-specific dance film celebrates Sternberg Park’s unique personalities and social community in one of Williamsburg’s most historic parks.

1 - a modern manufacturing breakthrough, and

Join us for our second 3rd Ward MakerBot Make-A-Thon, where you’ll get to see these tiny factories in action and talk to Makerbot reps.

In this installment, we’re celebrating Space Month. We’ll be printing Rockets, Astronauts, UFOs and Aliens in 3D. There will even be a space-themed 3D-printed Zoetrope, which will give a 21st century-spin on centuries-old device. 

Wear a space costume and get a printed space shuttle. Plus, grab a helmet and show your friends you landed on the moon in our photo booth.

And there will be prize giveaways from MakerBot, NOOKA, Apress and O'Reilly Media!
