April 10 @ Moviehouse : 4x4x4

April 10, 2011, 7 pm

195 Morgan Ave, Brooklyn, NY

A unique experiment in film and sound. Four composing teams (Sam Pluta & Peter Evans, Dan Edinberg, Whit Bernard & Adam Pogoff, and Moviehouse’s own Clay Franklin) created soundtracks without movies. Next four filmmakers (Jill Sigman, Chris King, Nathan Punwar, Andres Cortes) made films four the soundtracks. Finally we removed the first soundtrack and allowed a different composing team make a brand new soundtrack.

Come see each film with two different soundtracks and watch as the filmmakers and musicians see their work interpreted by another artist.

Come at 7pm get a sneak preview of what Small Batch Brooklyn is dreaming up for the upcoming Brooklyn Night Bazaar...sandwiches that are both elegant and over the top, inspired by years of snacking in restaurant kitchens and culinary explorations around the globe. Slow cooked meats, fresh seasonal produce, simple ideas and off-beat preparations take the humble sandwich to new places.

Carrie Shaltz & Zach Hyman Present PREYGROUND

PREYGROUND
Presented by 3rd Ward Open Call Winners, Carrie Shaltz & Zach Hyman
Friday, April 1, 2011, 7-10pm
195 Morgan Ave, Brooklyn, NY,
FREE admission

Their first project won them the Open Call.

Their prize money sent them on an art-making journey.

Now Carrie Shaltz and Zach Hyman's journey is coming to a thrilling conclusion with PREYGROUND, a multimedia Gallery Show at 3rd Ward showcasing their never-before-seen work.

PREYGROUND is a lush exploration of our natural, “wild” selves in a society that suppresses that exact behavior. Nude, masked, and with zero inhibitions, Carrie and Zach explore natural and man-made landscapes in striking, stylish tableaus that juxtapose animal physicality with the everyday.

Come celebrate this exhilarating body of work that will include photographs, videos, and masks. With live MUSIC BY JULIA OF NMRKT and drinks compliments of Alacran tequila.

RSVPs are required at www.3rdward.com/rsvp
