Processing // An Introduction to Interactive Multimedia
This course will teach you the basics of Processing, an open source programming language and environment for people who want to program images, animations, and interactions. It is used by students, artists, designers, researchers, and hobbyists for learning, prototyping, and production. It is supported by a large community that promotes the ideals of open source by openly sharing code and ideas. Processing is also extremely expandable through software libraries and hardware interfacing.
This class will take place in our Media Lab, equipped with fully-loaded iMac design workstations. Basic Macintosh computer literacy is required for this course.
NO previous programming experience is required!
Instructor
Matt Richard is a new media artist living in Brooklyn,NY. He is fascinated with light as medium, generative systems, camera based interaction, organic growth and decay. He is inspired by the Dada and Surrealist movements of the early 20th century, and symmetry in nature. He holds a MPS in Interactive Telecommunications from NYU and a BFA in Interactive Design and Game Development with a minor in Painting from SCAD.
