Leather Necklace Workshop
Create a unique leather necklace inspired by global traditions. Learn all the necessary steps to create a necklace in leather using semi-precious stones, feathers and fringe as adornments.
Students will be guided through conception, design process and preliminary fashion sketch to create a truly individual piece. We will experiment with shape, color, texture, symbolism and stone properties. We will cover the basics of leatherworking and jewelry making. Students will receive a supply list, a supplier guide and learn how to set up their own workspace.

Instructor
Kelly Horrigan is a fashion designer and educator. Her company Kelly Horrigan Handmade features one-of-a-kind leather designs that combine old-world techniques with modern aesthetic. She earned her BFA in fashion design and has since been a professor at Pratt Institute’s fashion department. Kelly has taught jewelry workshops, sandal making, sewing construction and fashion design presentation.
