Jewelry Studio // Continuing Projects

Continuing Projects is a self designed class, sort of like an independent study.  It is designed for students with some jewelry experience, who may need help trouble shooting or finishing a project started in another class, or starting a new, more ambitious project.  Curious about finishing and patinas?  Unsure of what's the best way to solder your project?  Just want more time working with the tools with an instructor, so you feel comfortable? This is the workshop for you.

In this class you choose what you'd like to learn, you embark on your own projects and creative process, and we'll be there to help you do it in the safest, most efficient way possible.   To take this class you must have previous jewelry experience, whether it's our Intro to Jewelry: Silversmithing course or comparable experience elsewhere.  You should be able to solder on an oxy-acetylene torch, at least while supervised, use a jeweler's saw and a flex shaft dremmel tool.  If any of these are unfamiliar to you we strongly suggest you take an Intro to Silversmithing class or Casting Intensive first.  Furthermore, none of these basic skills will be taught, though they may be reviewed.  

Students will be responsible for all materials and supplies associated with the particulars of their unique project.  3rd Ward will provide the basic consumables such as saw blades, burs and sandpaper. 

Instructor
Max Goodman is a working artist and educator. A Philadelphia native, Max earned her BFA from the Tyler School of Art with a double major in Painting and Jewelry/Metalsmithing. After finishing her studies and working for several years in the jewelry design industry both for nationally selling firms and as an independent designer, Max spent a year traveling Europe as a wandering horse trainer. In 2009 she relocated to Brooklyn and happily discovered the art-making community here at 3rd Ward. Learn why Max's jewelry classes are unique here.
