Introduction to Rhino
Rhino is a cutting edge software program that is used in the architecture, engineering, product and jewelry design industries. Come to the class with a sketch, drawing, physical model, scan data, or only an idea—Rhino provides all the commands and power to accurately model and document your designs ready for CAD drawings, renderings, laser cutting, 3-D printing, prototyping, CNC milling and other manufacturing processes. Rhinoceros 5 will be available for both the Mac and PC this year and has unlimited plug-ins to satisfy the needs of every artist, designer and engineer.
This class will be an approachable and kick-ass way to get the basic skills to get you working in Rhino. We will explore the user interface in the first class and then create a series of objects with the subsequent classes. The last class will be dedicated to the project of your choice. Are you ready to rumble?!?!
This class will take place in our Media Lab, equipped with fully-loaded iMac design workstations. Basic Macintosh computer literacy is required for this course. This class is for beginners. Those with extensive prior CAD or 3D modeling experience may consider our Rhino 2 course.
