Intermediate Jewelry // Lockets, Hinges & Containers
If you've taken an Intro to Jewelry class and you're ready to expand your hand-building fabrication skills then this is the class for you. Students will embark on an intermediate level project, such as a locket, salt and pepper shakers or a hinged lidded container. In this four week class you'll learn many new skills for advanced fabrication, such as keyhole mechanisms, soldering hollow forms and building hinges by hand. We will also discuss beginner business practices in the jewelry industry for those students interested in selling their work. We'll discuss using social media to market your work, introduce you to the ins and outs of Etsy, and touch on pricing and sourcing. At the end of this class students will feel confident in their higher level fabrication skills, and savvy enough to make their first forays into selling their work.
