Do-It-Yourself Film Competition // May 1 Submission Deadline!

Got a film you want your friends, neighbors, and great judges to see? The L Magazine is calling all filmmakers with an ingenious, hands-on approach for the  The Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Film Competition, Northside Festival's first juried screening series. The lucky winners will receive an exclusive screening with Rooftop Films plus cash and equipment rentals.

There are two categories of entry: Features and Shorts.

Features
Criteria: Submissions must be longer than 60-130 minutes. Budget must be under $100,000.
Prize: First place winners will receive a $500 cash prize, a screening at Rooftop Films in Brooklyn and a complimentary camera rental package.

Shorts

Criteria: Submissions must be under 30 minutes and have a budget under $20,000.
Prize: First place winners will receive a $250 cash prize, a screening at Rooftop Films in Brooklyn and a complimentary camera rental package.

Jury members include Rosie Perez, Ted Hope & Todd P

Share your tactile inventions and technology you can actually hold (ie: no zip files), next Wednesday at Technology You Can Touch, a networking event for engineers, inventors and entrepreneurs, hosted by NYC Tech Connect.

NYC Tech Connect is a new public-private partnership funded jointly by the New York City Investment Fund, the Partnership for New York City and the New York City Council.
